California
These are my pictures of my trips to California. Recently, I went back to California. I had a little time to kill on the weekend, so I decided to go see the Crystal Cathedral and the San Diego Zoo. The Crystal Cathedral wasn't bad, but somehow I expected it to be bigger. The Zoo was pretty cool and didn't let me down. I still had a little time to kill, so I went down to the Harbor in San Diego and was treated to a couple carriers. This is the plane I took to California.

The Crystal Cathedral was pretty neat. Didn't go inside though although I probably could have. It was impressive, but somehow I was expecting something a little bigger. The statues around the ground were pretty neat.

As I said, the Zoo was pretty cool and it didn't disappoint. There was quite a bit of walking and I'm not entirely sure I saw everything. I pretty much saw the animals I wanted to see. The Pandas were definately worth the trip.

Then I went down to San Diego itself. The Harbor was really cool. Lots of neat ships, especially the carriers. The timing was right because I got to get some nice sunset shots (or at least I think so).
As I was leaving John Wayne Airport, I saw this B-17 parked near the runway. Went out to California again. This time, I headed out to the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino. They had many cool planes but in many cases the sight lines were pretty poor for taking pictures. It was still pretty neat as they had a few planes that I hadn't seen in person before. These are some shots at the Minneapolis Airport. It's pretty cool because they have a couple planes hanging from the cieling. There is also an Air National Guard base there.

These are the pictures from John Wayne Airport. It is a nice aiport as it is is fairly small so it's a pretty quick jaunt through the airport. Plus it is only about 5 minutes from where I stay when visiting our other office in California (it's also about 5 minutes from that office).
This is a John Wayne statue they have.
I love the Southwest planes where they get all decked out. I also went to Huntington Beach a couple nights.

As I was heading towards Huntington Beach, I saw this. I think it's from a bad movie from the early 80's called Megaforce. If it's not a real prop from that movie, it's a pretty good replication. It was a shame the store it was sitting in front of wasn't open because I'd half expect to see an actor from that movie.
Just before I flew out, I stopped by Corona Del Mar.

Another trip to California. Another place. This time the Joshua Tree National Forest. Pretty neat place.
